Looking to Get Married in Portsmouth? See 5 Favourite Wedding Venues from a Videographer

As a wedding videographer working across Hampshire, Dorset, Sussex and Wiltshire, Portsmouth holds a special place in my heart. The Great Waterfront City is a hub of historical culture, cosy streets and contemporary architecture, with beautiful woods and parkland stretching out at the city’s edges. For couples looking to get married in and around Portsmouth, the city offers a plethora of stunning, quirky, modern, and magical wedding venues.

With The Wedding Video Guys, couples get to treasure their day forever – from preparation to the ceremony, and the dad-dancing into the night, plus all of those precious little moments in between. Over the years, I have had the phenomenal pleasure of being a wedding videographer for countless couples in Portsmouth. Here I want to share some of my favourite wedding venues in Portsmouth.

Square Tower

Built in 1494, Portsmouth’s Square Tower is one of the city’s oldest buildings. Retaining many of its Tudor features, this wedding venue holds a truly unique atmosphere with its herringbone brickwork and stunning fireplaces and hand crafted heraldic shields. As a wedding videographer in Portsmouth, I can weave these features into your wedding video.

Spinnaker Tower

Standing proudly as one of Portsmouth peninsula’s most majestic and recognisable buildings, the Emirates’ Spinnaker Tower is certainly a favourite for couples choosing a wedding venue in Portsmouth. With the wedding taking place 105 metres above the stunning Portsmouth skyline, I am still astounded by breath–taking views each time I am hired as the wedding videographer. A front-row seat to the sunset? Don’t mind if I do...

Tournerbury Woods Estate

A grand white marquee sits in an opening from magical woodland; Tournerbury truly is a favourite Portsmouth wedding venue for us. Whether or not the weddings here are graced by the infamous British weather, no one can help but to be enchanted by the Tournerbury Woods Estate. As a wedding videographer, I can’t get enough of the fairy lights, the woods and secluded hush of the place – until things get started of course!

Skylark Golf & Country Club

A Grade II listed barn, outstanding countryside views and elegance at every turn; Skylark Golf & Country Club has long held its position as one of the best wedding venues in and around Portsmouth. Each time I have had the pleasure of being the wedding videographer here, I can’t help but agree. Able to hold up to 180 guests, Skylark Golf & Country Club ensures all of your loved ones can come together to celebrate on your big day – and we are delighted to capture it all on film.

Solent Forts

Delivering anything but the ordinary in wedding venues, Portsmouth really “pushes the boat out” with Solent Forts. Standing in the Solent, on the cusp of the English Channel, the once abandoned Solent Forts have been transformed into luxury hotels and exclusive-use wedding venues for a truly unique and wondrous entry into wedded life.

For soon-to-be-weds, Portsmouth really does have it all when it comes to memorable wedding venues.
